ISTANBUL (EuroCup Women) - Yakin Dogu Universitesi made history by lifting the EuroCup Women title during their rookie campaign with a 63-58 comeback win against Bellona Agu, having also won the first leg by four points.
Turning Point: Having been on the backfoot for most of the game after a torrid start, with their star playmaker Courtney Vandersloot in foul trouble with four to her name and also down by double digits in the third quarter, it looked like it was not going to be their night. But, they erupted with a spectacular 15-2 tear at the start of the last quarter and it turned the contest on its head.

Stats Don't Lie: For so much of the game, it was Bellona Agu who seemed most likely to dominate under the basket after an impressively aggressive start. But, Yakin Dogu recovered and actually outscored their opponents 30-28 in the paint. Meanwhile too many turnovers down the stretch spoiled the night of Bellona Agu who lost their third EuroCup Women Final.
Game Heroes: Quanitra Hollingsworth led the way for the winning side with 16 points and 10 rebounds, but perhaps it was the 13 points and nine rebounds from her partner in the paint which made the difference. Belarusian forward Yelena Leuchanka had a vital 13 points and nine rebounds in 20 minutes and went 71% from the field.
