EuroLeague Women 2022-23 Regular Season, Qualifiers clubs announced

MUNICH (Germany) - The clubs that will take part in this season's EuroLeague Women as well as the teams that will compete in the Qualifiers for a Regular Season berth in Europe's flagship club competition

MUNICH (Germany) - The clubs that will take part in this season's EuroLeague Women as well as the teams that will compete in the Qualifiers for a Regular Season berth in Europe's flagship club competition were confirmed on Wednesday.

A total of 22 clubs registered for the 2022-23 edition of the EuroLeague Women and 13 of those were granted a direct berth in the Regular Season, based on criteria that take into consideration their respective National Federation ranking.

The three remaining spots in the Regular Season will find their rightful owners upon the completion of three round-robin Qualifier tournaments, of three clubs each. Only the winner of each of those three tournaments will earn the coveted ticket to the competition.

FIBA Europe also announced that the draw for both Regular Season groups and for the Qualifier tournaments will take place in Munich on Friday, July 15.

Clubs with a Regular Season berth:

    Fenerbahce (TUR)
    Tango Bourges Basket (FRA)
    Perfumerias Avenida (ESP)
    Sopron Basket (HUN)
    Beretta Famila Schio (ITA)
    ZVVZ USK Praha (CZE)
    BC Polkowice (POL)
    Kangoeroes Basket Mechelen (BEL)
    TTT Riga (LAT)
CBK Mersin Yenisehir Bld. (TUR )
    Basket Landes (FRA)

    KSC Szekszard (HUN)

Clubs taking part in the Qualifiers:

    Spar Girona (ESP)
    DVTK Hun-Therm Miskolc (HUN)
    Virtus Segafredo Bologna (ITA)
    ACS Sepsi-SIC (ROU)
    Olympiacos SFP (GRE)
    Elizur Landco Ramla (ISR)
    KKZ Crvena Zvezda (SRB)

The nine teams in the EuroLeague Women Qualifiers are divided in two pots, according to geographical criteria, namely their geographical proximity to the two EuroCup Women Regular Season conferences.

Therefore, and because of their proximity, Villeneuve d’Ascq-LM (FRA), Spar Girona (ESP) and Virtus Segafredo Bologna (ITA) will compete in the same Qualifier tournament, that feeds into ECW Conference 2.

The other six clubs will be drawn in the remaining two Qualifier tournaments, which both feed into ECW Conference 1.

The 2nd-placed and 3rd-placed clubs in each of the three Qualifier tournaments will automatically be seeded in the Regular Season of the EuroCup Women, in their respective conference.

All three Qualifiers tournaments are scheduled to take place between October 11-13.
