    Roundup: Cups for Avenida and Bydgoszcz, Moore lands at UMMC, Zandalasini returns

    Robinson steals the show as Avenida scoop silverware

    Angelica Robinson propelled Perfumerias Avenida to another Copa De La Reina success as the center starred in their 72-62 success against Spar Citylift Girona.

    She finished the contest with 13 points and 6 rebounds, with the Salamanca club taking the top podium step at the Zaragoza-based tournament and winning the honor for the seventh time. It was also the third time that Robinson had taken the MVP accolade at the event.

    McBride shines as Artego Bydgoszcz take trophy

    Playmaker Julie McBride was the architect of Artego Bydgoszcz winning the Polish Cup as they completed a magnificent triumph against Wisla CANPACK.


    Bydgoszcz got the job done by crushing the EuroLeague Women side 77-53, thanks mainly to McBride's stellar 25 points and 10 assists.

    Moore and Mendez make a winning debut with UMMC

    With new playcaller Miguel Mendez in the coaching seat for the first time, there was also a new player on the court for UMMC Ekaterinburg as Maya Moore made her long-awaited debut.

Дебютировавшая в составе "лисиц" Майя Мур набрала 10 очков, 4 передачи и сделала 8 подборов. У "сибирячек" 15 очками отметилась Шеннон Маккаллум. Это был первый матч для УГМК после ухода с поста главного тренера команды Олафа Ланге. В игре с "Енисеем" екатеринбургской командой руководили помощники главного тренера Джеймс Уэйд и Ольга Коростелева. Под руководством нового главного тренера Мигеля Мендеса УГМК проведет первый матч 25 января в Италии против "Фамилы Скио" в рамках Евролиги. Премьер-Лига.     The USA national team star finished with 10 points and 8 rebounds in a 74-58 victory against Enisey Krasnoyarsk. Elsewhere, Brionna Jones had 24 points and 11 rebounds for Nadezhda as they beat MBA Moscow 82-63. There was also a fine display from another center in Maria Vadeeva who shot 6-of-7 from the floor for 15 points as Dynamo Kursk waltzed past Novosibirsk 97-57.

    Fenerbahce trip up on home soil

    There was a setback for the high-flying Fenerbahce as they went down 78-73 on their home floor to the ever-improving Mersin. Marica Gajic had 19 points and 11 rebounds in an exceptional display for the visitors.


    Yakin Dogu Universitesi are still out in front at the top of the standings after a comfortable 91-69 win at Cukurova, with Quanitra Hollingsworth weighing in with 18 points. Hatay prospered 67-58 at Botas, with Courtney Paris once again breath-taking as she claimed 19 points and 18 rebounds.

    Agu Spor had to work hard to shrug off Istanbul Universitesi 69-63 in their derby matchup, helped by 16 points from Maja Miljkovic. Erica Wheeler landed 21 points as Besiktas edged out Samsun 70-66, while there was some respite for Galatasaray, who stopped their recent slump in form by finally getting a victory. They jumped past Bornova Beckerspor 97-44 as Allie Quigley racked up 25 points.

    Bourges topple main challengers ESBVA-LM

    Tango Bourges Basket are now in control in the LFB after they completed a convincing 60-46 win at fellow title hopefuls, ESBVA-LM.


    Marine Johannes led the way with 14 points as both teams look forward to meeting again in EuroLeague Women this week.

    BLMA are still struggling and hit another low point as they were swamped 79-48 at Flammes Carolo Basket, with Clarissa Dos Santos only just missing out on a double-double by one rebound after sinking 19 points.

    Basket Landes won 62-50 at Saint-Amand as four players produced double-digit scoring returns and Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe made a splash for Nantes Reze as they beat Nice 66-56. The Canadian powerhouse accumulated 24 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists.

    Elsewhere in Europe

    After being sidelined in recent weeks, there was a boost for Famila Schio as they welcomed back Cecilia Zandalasini.


    She netted 12 points as her team breezed past Nova Vigarano 87-64. Elsewhere in Italy, there was a powerful 81-45 win for Reyer Venezia at Fixi Piramis Turin, while Passalacqua Ragusa posted an impressive 66-48 success at Gesam Gas Lucca, with Dearica Hamby dropping 20 points.

    EuroCup Women side Good Angels Kosice enjoyed lifting the Slovak Republic Cup as they extracted revenge on holders Piestankse Cajky in a 62-61 thriller.

    PEAC-Pecs won the big Hungarian derby against PINKK Pecsi 81-62 with Sara Imovbioh erupting for 19 points and 10 rebounds. Sopron succeeded 64-51 at ZTE Noi Kosarlabda in a week when they confirmed a number of returnees for 2018-19, including the likes of Hungarian trio Virag Wenninger, Debora Dubei and Bernadett Hatar.
