Fenerbahce go with France national team boss Valerie Garnier

ISTANBUL (EuroLeague Women) - Fenerbahce have handed their coaching reins to France national team playcaller Valerie Garnier.

ISTANBUL (EuroLeague Women) - Fenerbahce have handed their coaching reins to France national team playcaller Valerie Garnier.

She will jump into the hot-seat to replace Firat Okul, who was fired earlier this week, along with playing duo Aerial Powers and Lynetta Kizer who also left the club.

As well as her accomplishments in taking France to successive FIBA Women's EuroBasket Finals, Garnier also landed a EuroCup Women title with Bourges Basket and a string of domestic silverware in France.

With Fenerbahce having missed the EuroLeague Women Final Four for the first time since 2011, the main focus of Garnier in the short term will be to ensure Fenerbahce recapture their Turkish crown from city rivals, Yakin Dogu Universitesi.
