Clubs and athletes have been supporting a hugely important initiative.

MUNICH (Germany) - EuroLeague Women has demonstrated its support for Special Olympics European Basketball Week with a host of activities and events to mark the annual event.

In a partnership between FIBA Europe and the Special Olympics, there have been multiple activities taking place around EuroLeague Women - most notably at the recent games between Casademont Zaragoza and Villeneuve d'Ascq LM as well as at the matchup between Perfumerias Avenida and DVTK HUNTHERM.

Participants were invited to get involved in various basketball activities ahead of these important EuroLeague Women games, as well as being invited to get involved with the entertainment team in Zaragoza.

The 21st edition of the Special Olympics European Basketball Week commenced on November 25, running through to December 3 - to honor and celebrate the International Day of People with Disabilities (IDPWD).

Both provide a platform to promote the role that EuroLeague Women athletes can play in offering greater visibility and inclusion for women with intellectual disabilities.

This year's edition of the Special Olympics European Basketball Week was anticipated to engage 25,000 people - both with and without intellectual disabilities - covering over 35 countries and 250 events.

The collaboration originates from FIBA Europe's longstanding partnership with Special Olympics Europe Eurasia (SOEE) and reflects a shared commitment to promoting inclusivity and empowerment for women in sports.
