EUROLEAGUE FINAL FOUR 2010, MEN
TEAM CHARACTERISTICS
A low post and mid post orientated team. Their players fight for position and all players set good screens. Most of the job is done without the ball, and once the ball is inside they score with high percentages. If an inside shot is attempted, four players go for the offensive rebound. They use the screen the screener option to isolate their small forward. What is also characteristic is that their small forward and power forward on the perimeter always look to play the two man game with the center in the low post. Other than that they have deadly catch and shoot players who shoot fast or curl if the defense allows this. They will stop the fast break as many times as needed. Generally they play aggressively throughout the game and have very good foul management. Sometimes they play a 2-3 Zone.
TRANSITION

The transfer of the ball will mostly occur by many short passes with changes of direction. Only McCalebb will dribble coast to coast. All other players run the break and finish many times with dunks or alley-oops. If these situations do not occur the most likely option will be a catch and shoot three pointer.
OFFENSIVE TENDENCIES

They run long set offenses with dribble and pass entries to either side. All players play different positions and have good spacing. Spacing, ball position and player movement is the key element to their offensive strategy. Besides the post isolations an opponent always has to look out for their outside players who will catch and shoot or dribble drive hard at all times.
SET PLAYS
Screen the Screener: This offense is played for Vesely. Pick & Roll action is played with the power forward. Vesely receives a cross screen from the shooting guard and then fights for position in the low post. If teams decide to double team him, Vesely will pass to the center dropping from the opposite high post. If they do not double team trap and front the post, the shooting guard will catch and shoot or drive strong. If this does not work either another cross screen will be set, this time from the center for Vesely.

Isolation: They play this a lot as a secondary break. If played as a set, it starts with the ball being swung around the perimeter and a cross screen from the small forward for the center. It finishes with screen the screener action. The screener option is not to get a shot, but for a lob pass to the center or Pick & Roll action with the power forward in case of being denied, followed by high-low game.

Stagger Offense: Starts with a side dribble entry and the small forward receiving a weak side stagger. The small forward now on top of the key waits for the next stagger for the shooting guard who will cut to the free throw line extended and look for the two man game with the center in the low post. When Rasic is the point guard a third stagger will take place and he will cut to the corner or to the wing and catch and shoot.

ZONE OFFENSE

Their primary goal is to make the first pass into the low post. That will occur by bumping or using cross screens. Their center is the creator of the zone offense. Once the ball is inside at least two players will cut and the others will wait for a kick out to catch and shoot.
OB PLAYS

On SOB they will start with a Zipper entry followed by a flare screen. They will primarily look for a center isolation in the low post or a stagger for the shooting guard. On BOB the point guard inbounds the ball and the center pops out to receive the pass and passes back to the point guard cutting to the top of the key. A stagger will be set for the shooting guard who will catch and shoot, and this is their primary option. If this is not possible he will look for the center in the low post.
DEFENSIVE CHARACTERISTICS

In transition the player defending the rebounder will put quick pressure on the rebounder. All other players will run back to their perimeter. They will always push the post from behind and fight for position in the low post. They will always pressure the ball and play denial. Their coordination between the first and second line of defense is balanced which allows them to hedge and recover and sometimes go for a steal or even trap in certain situations. Due to this coordination they will decide sometimes to step out in the Pick & Roll or even switch. Otherwise Maric sags 3m below the screen, and Vranes 5m below the screen.
