    Seven more tickets snapped up for the Play-Off Round 1

    MUNICH (Germany) - OGM Ormanspor, VBW Arka Gdynia, AZS UMCS Lublin, Flammes Carolo Basket, Angers, Villeneuve D'Ascq and London Lions have all cemented their respective places in the Play-Off Round 1.

    MUNICH (Germany) - OGM Ormanspor, VBW Arka Gdynia, AZS UMCS Lublin, Flammes Carolo Basket, Angers, Villeneuve D'Ascq and London Lions have all cemented their respective places in the Play-Off Round 1.

    AZS UMCS Lublin ensured their safe passage to the next phase by beating Crvena Zvezda MTS 82-63 in Group A. Their victory was founded on a fantastic 19 points, 15 rebounds, 4 steals and 4 blocked shots from Natasha Mack.

    Inspired by 14 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists from playmaker Riquna Williams, OGM Ormanspor took their spot with a hard-fought 66-60 Group D win at VBW Arka Gdynia. However, their Polish opponents will still advance despite the defeat.

    FCC UAV Arad did them a favour in the pool by beating Polskie Przetwory Bydgoszcz 87-50 in a performance fuelled by 20 points from Stephanie Madden and an all-action 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists from Brankica Hadzovic. 

    Villeneuve D'Ascq got the Group J win they needed to take a ticket as they strolled past Banco Di Sardegna Sassari 68-48 as Kennedy Burke claimed a team-high 15 points. 

    London Lions are also celebrating making it out of Group J despite being edged out 76-75 at Roche Vendee Basket Club as they recovered from an early 24-point deficit. Holly Winterburn returned from her recent injury to shine again for Lions with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists, with 21 points from Tiffany Clarke taking Roche Vendee to the win.

    Angers kept their good run going after coasting past KP Brno 68-44 thanks mainly to 16 points, 6 assists and 4 steals from Alexis Peterson - plus a big team job on the glass. That combination and also their 4-1 record has propelled them to the next stage of the tournament.


    They will be joined by Group L French rivals Flammes Carolo Basket, who stormed past ZKK Ragusa 115-60. Amel Bouderra impressed after adding 11 assists to go with 12 points, while Nikolina Milic starred in the paint with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. 

    Elsewhere, Galatasaray Cagdas Factoring achieved a tense and exciting 68-66 Group C win against InvestInTheWest Enea Gorzow as Teaira McCowan put on another unstoppable performance. The center harvested a monumental 33 points and 14 rebounds, fittingly scoring a last ditch winning basket for her team.

    In the same group, Piestansky Cajky won the Slovakian derby with Slavia Banska Bystrica 81-55, prospering from Bozica Mujovic showing out with 31 points, 6 assists, 3 steals and 3 rebounds.

    Casademont Zaragoza are now a fabulous 5-0 in Group I after beating Cadi La Seu 71-58 as 15 points from Mariona Ortiz and a double-double of 11 points and 10 boards from Selena-Lynn Geldof took them past their domestic rivals.

    Finally, Castors Braine raced past BBC Grengewald 115-66 in Group I after a spectacular 30 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists from Hungarian Reka Lelik to boost their chances of qualification

    There are 12 more games taking place on Thursday to round out the Gameday 5 action with more teams chasing spots in the next phase.
