MUNICH (Germany) - There was a double dose of history on Tuesday night and plenty of drama as Elazig Il Ozel Idare and ACS Sepsi-Sic made it to the EuroCup Women Quarter-Finals for the first time.

They were two of six clubs who booked their respective places and in the case of Elazig, it was in the most dramatic fashion possible as a last-second triple from Gamze Takmaz handed them a thrilling 88-86 success against Bellona Kayseri Basketbol.

The win was not only due to the late heroics of Takmaz, with recent signing Kristine Vitola adding a stellar 23 points and 13 boards, while Nika Baric also excelled with 14 points a stunning 13 assists, with Kelsey Mitchell top-scoring with 25 points.

The defeat was tough on Kalani Brown, who netted a superb 34 points for the hub hosts

ACS Sepsi-Sic also managed to break new ground in dramatic fashion as they needed overtime to claim a memorable and nail-biting 76-73 triumph against Lointek Gernika Bizkaia. Simina Mandache top-scored with 21 points, while Jovana Pasic weighed in with 16 points and Rebekah Gardner showed her strength with 19 points and 8 rebounds.

Elsewhere, two former winners of the competition went up against each other and it was ESBVA-LM of France who eased out Sparta&K 69-62.

It was a brilliant backcourt show from Lisa Berkani that made the difference, with the French guard producing 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Peyton Williams continued her excellent work from the Regular Season for Sparta&K, with a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds.

Having starred in the Regular Season with Ramla, new signing DeWanna Bonner continued her good work with her new club KSC Szekszard. The veteran forward didn't disappoint as she dropped 26 points to take the Hungarian side to a 66-53 victory against Saint-Amand Hainaut Basket.

There was also a phenomenal display from her teammate and sister Erica McCall who pulled down a jaw-dropping 21 rebounds to go with 13 points.

Reyer Venezia and Valencia Basket Club SAD were both predicted to make a deep run at the start of the campaign and now both are safely into the last eight of the tournament.

Venezia were too strong for InvestInTheWest ENEA Gorzow as the Italians recorded a 72-63 win. Temi Fagbenle never missed a shot en-route to 12 points, with playmaker Yvonne Anderson offering an all-action 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists.
