MBA Moscow made everyone sit up and take notice as they completed a double against Botas to advance. Having won the first meeting by a point, they came from behind on Turkish soil to post another memorable victory in a 59-60 thriller. Varvara Psareva did the damage with 16 points and 10 boards.

There was a nasty surprise for Enisey, since they expected to overturn a 6-point deficit from the first leg at MBK Ruzomberok. Despite a 74-72 victory behind 23 points and 10 rebounds from Stephanie Mavunga, it was not sufficient for the Russians. The lower seeds celebrated progressing thanks mainly to 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists from Janeesa Jeffery.

It was also a triumph for another lower seed in the shape of Nantes Reze as they went down 81-77 at Energa Torun  but still squeezed through, courtesy of their 7-point success at home last week. Brianna Day was the backbone for them in Poland with a spectacular 24 points and 22 rebounds.

Artego Bydgoszcz swept aside Basketball Nymburk 93-66, as Dragana Stankovic enhanced her reputation as the best shot-blocker in the competition by adding another 5 swats to her name. Playmaker Julie McBride also handed out 8 assists.

Meanwhile you can almost still hear the sighs of relief from Besiktas, who were hammered 80-59 at Turkish rivals Orman Genclik as Rebekah Gardner starred with 18 points, 9 boards, 6 assists and 4 blocks. However, the Istanbul side still scraped through due to a 24-point win in the first leg.

Finally, Lyon ASVEL Feminin also finished the job in emphatic fashion at home to Sparta&k M.R. Vidnoje 82-52 as Clarissa Dos Santos showed out with 27 points and 14 rebounds.

In addition to the seven teams who secured their spots on Thursday evening, Reyer Venezia had already booked their place 24 hours earlier by routing the visiting Basket Landes
