MUNICH (EuroCup Women) – We record the players to look out for in EuroCup Women Group C as MBA Moscow, Umea Udominate, Sparta&K M.R. Vidonje and Artego Bydgoszcz get ready to tussle during the Regular Season.
Hollie Mershon - Umea Udominate
It was a big boost for Udominate when Mershon opted to remain for another season as she was their main source of joy on the hardwood last season in EuroCup Women. Whether it is scoring, rebounding or dishing up assists, the guard is always impacting games and is fun to watch.
Dragana Stankovic - Artego Bydgoszcz
Stankovic can move back to being a premier player now she has moved to a club where she can flourish. The Serbian has massive talent and with extended minutes compared to Hatay, she could get back to the kind of level that saw her drafted to the WNBA. She will certainly be a handful under the hoop for her opponents.
Meighan Simmons - Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje
In one of the biggest signings of the off-season in EuroCup Women, Sparta&K have got their hands on someone who was highly productive in EuroLeague Women last season at Wisla Can-Pack. She has also played with Atlanta Dream in the WNBA this year and that also speaks volumes about her backcourt capabilities.
Liudmila Sapova - MBA Moscow
A familiar face on the EuroLeague and EuroCup Women scene for many years, the forward brings lots of experience to the table after moving from Nadezhda. That will help a youthful MBA side, with Sapova capable of making an impact on the wing. A strong physical presence, she should help turn up the defensive heat.
Julie McBride- Artego Bydgoszcz
The dynamic playmaker has been the driving force behind the club's rise to prominence in the past few seasons and that is set to continue. She may be 35-years-old, but the naturalized Polish star has a vast array of know-how will pull the strings for her team to great effect as usual.
Tiffany Brown - Umea Udominate
Having helped Piestanske Cajky claim silverware in Slovak Republic last year, Brown has switched to Sweden. Udominate will rely heavily on her fast hands and good reading of the game to get steals and scores in transition. The guard is a talented creator too, while she will also do a good job on the glass for her team.
Anna Leshkovtseva - MBA Moscow
A skillful baller who is also a highly-rated 3x3 player, Leshkovtseva can hurt opponents in so many different ways. She scored in double digits during the maiden EuroCup Women season of MBA Moscow last year and could be an even bigger force in 2017-18.
Ivana Dojkic - Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje
A great scorer at youth level, Dojkic was taken by Sparta&K in 2016 as they have done with so many promising young players over the years - in addition to their conveyor belt of homegrown talent. The Croatian scoring guard debuted in EuroCup Women last season and will be looking to increase her output this time around.
