    FIBA EuroBasket Women 2017 groups confirmed

    PRAGUE (FIBA EuroBasket Women 2017) – The groups have been set for FIBA EuroBasket Women 2017 following the Draw Ceremony in Prague Old Town Hall on Friday afternoon.

    PRAGUE (FIBA EuroBasket Women 2017) - The groups have been set for FIBA EuroBasket Women 2017 following the Draw Ceremony in Prague Old Town Hall on Friday afternoon.

    During the ceremony, attended by FIBA Europe President Turgay Demirel, FIBA Executive Director - Europe Kamil Novak, along with representatives from the two host cities - Prague and Hradec Kralove - of next year's event, Czech women's basketball legends Eva Hlavackova-Viteckova and Hana Horakova were given the responsibility of drawing the 16 countries who will play in 2017.

    The teams were drawn into four groups of four, with Group A and B drawn to play their games in Hradec Kralove, whilst Prague will play host to Group C and D, as well as the Final Phase.

    The ceremony also witnessed the unveiling of Shiny, the mascot for FIBA EuroBasket Women 2017. The name is derived from the motto for the event, "Time to Shine".

    The FIBA EuroBasket Women 2017 Group Phase will take place from 16-21 June with the Final Phase running from 22-25 June.
