MUNICH (Germany) - Following the opening windows of the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers and FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 European Pre-Qualifiers, the European national teams have seen important shifts in the FIBA World Ranking Men, presented by Nike.
Two teams from Europe made gains in the Top 10, headlined by FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 runners-up Serbia moving past Australia into fourth place following a pair of wins against Finland and Georgia to start their EuroBasket Qualifiers campaign.

Meanwhile, Latvia cemented their status as the hottest team in the world by yet again topping reigning EuroBasket champions Spain and capping off the February window with a win against Slovakia. They climbed two spots into sixth place, overtaking Argentina and Canada in the process.
Azerbaijan emerged as the biggest winners of the international window, registering the highest rise across the globe by moving up 12 spots into 105th place. Having played two games in the 2027 World Cup European Pre-Qualifiers, they beat 79th ranked Kosovo 87-77 at home in Baku after dropping the first contest to Switzerland.
Also on a positive trajectory, Luxembourg jumped up four spots to 78th place in the World Ranking after splitting their February games. Denmark rose three places to 55th, having boosted their FIBA EuroBasket 2025 qualification hopes with a 75-69 win against the 22th ranked Georgia.
The biggest fallers in Europe were Sweden (#51), Romania (#63), Kosovo (#79), Malta (#97) and San Marino (#119), all of whom dropped two places in the World Ranking.
