Mission accomplished: Lundberg, Denmark lock up final spot at EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers

MUNICH (Germany) - Denmark completed the 32-team field for the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers by locking up the final spot from the Pre-Qualifiers.

They eased past Kosovo 88-63 on the road to complete Group H play with a perfect 4-0 record to move a step closer to a first appearance at the continental showcase since 1955.

Star Iffe Lundberg poured in 28 points and also had 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals in leading Denmark and Bakary Dibba chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds.

Denmark opened the second quarter on a 17-2 run to take control of the game and never looked back as the northern Europeans could have afforded a six-point loss and still grabbed first place.

Elsewhere, already-qualified Slovakia beat Albania 89-64 on the road for a perfect 4-0 record in Group I. Dalibor Hlivak scored 20 points with 6 assists to pace the winners. Franki Lilaj had 14 points in the loss, which dropped Albania to 0-4.

Ireland took second place in Group G as they outlasted Luxembourg 79-76 at home for a 2-2 record and the guests finished at 0-4. Ireland lost a five-point lead in the final 90 seconds but went back ahead for good on Neal Quinn's putback dunk with 37 seconds to play.

Jordan Blount and Christopher Fulton both scored 16 points and combined for 19 rebounds and 11 assists in the win. Clancy Rugg picked up 27 points and 12 rebounds in the loss.

In the early game of the day, Norway locked up second place in Group J with a 2-2 record thanks to an 84-74 win over Austria, who finished 1-3. Chris-Ebou Ndow scored 29 points to lead the way in the victory.
