    MUNICH (Germany) - Aleksandar Vezenkov set the early tournament high for efficiency as part of an eventful first day at FIBA EuroBasket 2022.

    The Bulgarian forward posted a double-double of 26 points and 11 rebounds in the tournament opener as his side were beaten 114-87 by Spain in Tbilisi.

    Lorenzo Brown starred in the win for the three-time title winners with a team-high 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting along with 5 assists to cap a successful EuroBasket debut.

    There was also a win for Bosnia and Herzegovina as Dzanan Musa played a starring role with an all-round contribution of 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in their 95-85 victory over Hungary, in Cologne.

    Meanwhile, Mike Tobey helped Slovenia to an opening 92-85 triumph over Lithuania in a thrilling Group B clash after finishing with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks to earn a spot in the lineup.

    Shane Larkin takes up a spot in the backcourt with a strong showing of 18 points, 7 assists and 2 steals to help lead Turkey past Montenegro in a dramatic 72-68 victory to get their campaign up and running.
