The playcaller takes the reins from Taylor, who had been at the helm for seven years with a Quarter-Final appearance at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 in China.

Milicic will continue his role as head coach of Arged BM Stal Ostrow Wielkopolski having led the team to last season's domestic Championship title as well as reaching the Final of the FIBA Europe Cup.
"The position of the national team coach is the dream of every athlete, and later a coach. I am lucky that I got such a chance. I will do my best to keep Polish basketball moving forward, not only in the upcoming games, but also in the future. The team is to fight from the first minute to the last with great energy on both sides of the floor," said Milicic in a press conference.
Meanwhile, Lukasz Koszarek - who has played at multiple FIBA EuroBasket tournaments and was part of the Poland squad at the last World Cup in 2019 - has been announced as the new Sports Director for the national team.
Poland take on Germany, Israel and Estonia in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Qualifiers with Milicic taking charge for the first time in the November window.
They will also face Israel at next year's FIBA EuroBasket 2022 having also been paired with Serbia, Finland, Netherlands and the Group D hosts, Czech Republic.
