CLUJ-NAPOCA (FIBA EuroBasket 2017) - With a three-point shot midway through the second quarter against Hungary, Pau Gasol overtook Tony Parker as the all-time leading EuroBasket points scorer.

The three brought Gasol's points total in Europe's top competition to 1,105, surpassing the mark of 1,104 set by Tony Parker at FIBA EuroBasket 2015, before the Frenchman called retirement on international basketball.

During his time in Cluj-Napoca, Gasol also overtook Dirk Nowitzki (1,052 points), who was bumped to third on the list. Check out the moment here:

"For sure, that was something that was on my mind and I wanted to get it over with, get it off the table. So now we can prepare, there's no other talks about anything individual here. We come as a team, our success is going to be based on how well we play together, how well we focus on the upcoming games, which are the most important ones. In the group, you lose, then you can come back and maybe finish first or second or finish high, but now, it's a win-or-go-home type of thing," Gasol commented following the game.

With this the last bi-annual FIBA EuroBasket, before it switches to a four-year cycle, it is difficult seeing Gasol's record bested.
