    ESP - Spain friendly for Venezuela

    CARACAS (National team) - Venezuela have been invited to play reigning world champions Spain ahead of this year's FIBA Americas Championship. Venezuelan Basketball Confederation president Carmelo Cortez told El Universal newspaper they had been offered a fixture by the Spaniards, on a date yet to be confirmed.

    As well as the match against Spain, who beat Greece in the FIBA World Championship final last year, Nestor Salazar`s Vinotinto squad would face two more friendlies on the tour, against Italy and a team from the Spanish ACB league.

    The Venezuelans are also scheduled to play the Stankovic Cup in China in July and August, alongside Angola, New Zealand, Slovenia and the hosts, plus one squad from the NBA D-League.
