MIES (Switzerland) - 2024 has been a breath of fresh air for Australia's Dyson Daniels.
In July, he was traded to the Atlanta Hawks after two seasons playing for the New Orleans Pelicans.
A month later, he made his first appearance in the Olympic Games in Paris and averaged 8.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game for the Boomers.
That change of scenery seems to have a positive effect on Daniels as he's off to a fantastic start to the season. In particular, it's been his efforts on the defensive end in picking pockets and passing lanes.
He's not slowing down as of November 18 either. After getting two steals against Portland, Daniels now has 31 steals in the past 6 games. No other player has reached 30 steals this season, with the runner-up so far in this category being Jalen Williams who has 28.
The most amount of steals in a game this season is 7. The second most is 6, recorded on three separate occasions. All of these four instances were recorded by Dyson Daniels. He also has another game with 5 steals, meaning Daniels is technically dominating the top five in this category single-handedly.
11 games into the season and things are looking bright for the Boomer. He's nearly tripled his scoring average to 15.3 points per game (from 5.8 per contest) while also averaging 4.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists.
The sky seems to be the limit for the up-and-coming Aussie and Australia basketball fans should be excited for the next time Daniels puts on the Green and Gold.
