Draws completed for FIBA European Youth Championships and FIBA European Championships for Small Countries 2020

FREISING (Germany) - The groups for all FIBA European Youth Championships and both FIBA European Championships for Small Countries were confirmed following Tuesday's draw ceremony held at the Munich Airport Marriot Hotel in Freising, Germany.
A record number of 257 teams will compete in the 16 youth tournaments, which will be played across three age categories and three divisions. A further 14 teams will contest the events for small countries in two categories, men and women.
Tuesday's draws were attended by FIBA Europe President Turgay Demirel, FIBA Executive Director Europe Kamil Novak, FIBA Europe Board Members Athos Antoniou and Bernard O'Byrne as well as representatives of the member federations.
Among those assisting during the draw were notable European basketball figures, including coach Pini Gershon and former basketball players Nenad Krstic and Jiri Welsch.
After thanking those in attendance, Mr. Novak said: "The youth championships are one of the strongest points of investment that FIBA Europe has been making for many years. And it is my pleasure to announce that we have reached a new record with 257 participating teams for the upcoming summer. The work with the youth is important to all 50 of our federations."
The summer events in Europe are set to tip off with Men's and Women's European Championship for Small Countries, organized between June 29 - July 4 in Limerick (Ireland) and between June 30 - July 5 in Nicosia (Cyprus), respectively.
Meanwhile, the action-packed summer will conclude on August 22 with the final day of competition at the FIBA U20 European Championship in Skopje, North Macedonia and FIBA U20 European Championship, Division B in Sofia, Bulgaria.
All 904 games of next summer's events will be produced by FIBA Europe and streamed live on official FIBA channels.
