PRAGUE (FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament for Women) - Czech Republic coach Lubor Blazek is to put his focus and energy into his position with the national team.
USK Prague have announced that Blazek, their long-time boss, will not be on the bench next season although he will continue to work for the club.
The veteran tactician will next month attempt to steer the national side to a third consecutive Olympic appearance.
The Czechs will play at the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT) for Women in Ankara in Group B with Argentina and New Zealand.
In a statement issued by Prague, Blazek said it was time for a change.
"I also think it would be better with regard to the Czech national team because combining work in the club and national team is extremely difficult as one goes from one job to another," Blazek said.
"This change will allow me to concentrate more on my work as the national team coach."
Blazek guided Czech Republic to a silver medal when they hosted the 2010 FIBA World Championship for Women.
