MIES (Switzerland) - Fans had everything they needed to watch basketball from across the globe this year thanks to the introduction of Courtside 1891, a long-term strategic venture between FIBA and sports marketing and data technology company Two Circles. Now that has been recognized officially with the Silver award for the Best New Platform category at the recent SportsPro OTT Awards 2022.

Judges recognized the innovative approach taken by the venture, which has brought together a broad range of basketball content under the fresh new Courtside 1891 brand while making that content available in a way that can be highly personalized, giving each fan the optimal experience.

Courtside 1891 has been a huge hit because it aggregates the best of basketball in one place. It features live and on-demand basketball streams, schedules and scores, bringing video and live data from professional men's, women's and youth basketball played across the globe into a single destination.

It features scores and schedules from over 250 events and leagues across the world, thanks to lead product developer PulseLive, while also offering a wide range of live streaming video, including FIBA's primary international and continental events, club competitions, and a growing portfolio of game highlights.

The introduction of Courtside 1891 earlier this year is also central to FIBA's aim to engage the next generations of the basketball audience and 'Enlarge the FIBA Family', a current strategic priority for FIBA. The platform represents a unique approach by an international federation offering a digital experience that delivers value for fans every day of the year.

The Best New Platform featured a hot field including the newly launched FIFA+ platform, beIN Sports' TOD broadcast product available across the MENA and Sportsnet for their SN NOW service. The two broadcasters are both FIBA partners in MENA and France, and Canada, respectively.

The gold went to the YES App which features live games of the Brooklyn Nets, New York Yankees and New York Liberty
