Confident Liman Huishan NE face early test at FIBA 3x3 World Tour Abu Dhabi 2023

ABU DHABI (UAE) - After finally breaking their Masters drought in style during an unforgettable run in Chengdu, Liman Huishan NE are eyeing going back-to-back at the FIBA 3x3 Abu Dhabi Masters.

ABU DHABI (UAE) - After finally breaking their Masters drought in style during an unforgettable run in Chengdu, Liman Huishan NE (SRB) are eyeing going back-to-back at the FIBA 3x3 Abu Dhabi Masters on October 28-29.

But the legendary Serbian team face a tough early test against Lausanne Sport LS (SUI), who made the semis in Chengdu.

The Swiss are inching closer to their first-ever Masters title with Raphael Wilson and Carlos Martinez forming a dynamic duo.

But they will need plenty of support to cope with a three-headed monster after Chengdu MVP Ning Zhang combined brilliantly with legendary Stefan Kojic and Mihailo Vasic.

This blockbuster highlights Pool B with the third team to emerge from the qualifying draw, which is headlined by Jeddah (KSA), Chonchi (CHI) and Abu Dhabi (UAE).

Top seeds Ub Huishan NE (SRB) exited in the quarters in Chengdu as their Masters drought extended to five events. But they can hit back immediately against dangerous Omaha (USA) and Wuxi (CHN) in Pool A.

Omaha made the quarters in Chengdu due largely to an unforgettable performance from new star James Parrott, who was delivering highlights almost every play.

To again make it out of Day One, they will likely have to beat Wuxi who boast towering young gun Jiaren Zhao.

Pool C just has to be the 'Group of Death' as Miami (USA) return back to the World Tour and will need to be sharp from the get go against San Juan (PUR) and Pirot (SRB).

We just can't wait to see former NBA player Jimmer Fredette engage in a personal shootout contest with San Juan sniper Antonio Ralat as the Puerto Ricans aim to bounce back after flaming out on Day One in Chengdu.

Pirot can't be underestimated because Dragan Bjelica still schools opponents on the half-court. Just wait until you see this OG deliver his killer crossover.

    ...

Beijing (CHN) won't have superhero Karlis Lasmanis but don't worry because Songwei Zhu looms as a new caped crusader after leading his team to a semi-final run in Chengdu.

The No.4 seeds are in Pool D and face a compelling clash against Partizan (SRB), who have gone up a gear since unveiling sharpshooters Stefan Milivojevic and Stefan Torbica.

No matter where they play in the world, Manila Chooks (PHI) can bank on the support of passionate Filipino fans who no doubt will be in the bleachers.

It might just ignite a giant-killing run for a team capable of delivering major upsets.
