BEIJING (CBA) - Jilin are one of four teams setting the early pace in the CBA after they enjoyed a 99-74 win over Beijing in the second round of the competition.

The hosts pulled away in the second quarter to hold a 49-30 lead at half-time and never looked back as they built on their opening-round success against Shanxi Zhongyu.

Darius Rice led the victors with 24 points and four rebounds while Chen Lei scored 18 points for Beijing, who have lost both their games this season.

Liaoning also made it two wins from two with a 110-94 result against Shanxi Zhongyu.

Wang Lei led all scorers with 27 points for Shanxi but it was to no avail as 22 points and 12 rebounds from Earnest Brown helped Liaoning claim the win.

Defending champions Guangdong maintained their winning start to the season with a 96-81 triumph over Zhejiang Wangma, thanks to a stunning third quarter which saw them open up a 17-point margin over their rivals.

Zhu Fangyu, Yi Jianlian and Terrence Green contributed 20 points apiece for the victors.

Shanghai can also boast a 2-0 record but were less convincing as they sneaked a 111-110 scoreline against Dongguan, with Liu Wei's late basket sealing the win for the hosts.

At the other end of the table, Yunnan fell to a second successive defeat with Bayi running out 108-103 winners in overtime.

Kenny Johnson poured in 25 points for Yunnan, but was unable to match an outstanding 51-point haul from Bayi's Zhizhi Wang.

In other second-round games, Fujian enjoyed a 107-92 victory at Zhejiang Guangsha, Shandong saw off winless Shanxi 86-75 and Jiangsu scored a convincing 123-94 success over Xinjiang.
