BEIJING (CBA) - Zhejiang Guangsha coach Wang Fei's job is hanging by a very small thread after his side's 85-77 defeat to Beijing left them in a perilous position in the CBA.

After their home defeat to Dongguan in their previous game there were shouts of "The class is dismissed" from fans (Chinese slang for asking the coach to resign).

And with Guangsha now lying second from bottom on 2-8 Fei knows he has to turn it around quickly.

"We lost, I can understand and accept the fans asking me to dismiss the class," Fei told Chinese sport newspaper Titan after the Dongguan game.

"The club has invested so much and invited some fairly good players, their expectation is higher than the results we've had so far, we could have done better.

"I told myself, we have to accept the fact, but I'm very uncomfortable, very depressed. I've been thinking: what are the proper things I've done? what are the improper ones?

"If the players do not play together very well, it means my arrangement is not proper, and I've adjusted that many times. I've been adjusting since I joined the team in April. No matter what we do, we need time to get used to it."

At the other end of the table, defending champions Bayi beat Liaoning 91-78 to leapfrog above them into fourth place.

And coach A Dijiang believes that impressive result comes off the back of defensive improvement.

"Bayi have traditionally presented a great defending line," he said. "Everyone knows, Bayi is good at defending.

"During the previous matches, we are not fighting as a team. And defending doesn't reply on the ability of individual, you have to work as a whole."

The two teams are now both on 7-3 and sit just behind Guangdong, Jiangsu and Xinjiang who are tied at the top of the table at 8-2.

But Bayi player Wang Zhongguang insists they can use this victory to push up the league.

"Liaoning were ahead of us, that's why we had to beat them," he said.

"We carried out our tactics very well, and that overcame them. We now have away games against Shangdong and Jiangsu, and I hope everyone can keep the same form."
