MIAMI (United States) – The FIBA Regional Office in the Americas and the Chilean Basketball Federation announced that Chile will host the FIBA Women's AmeriCup 2025. This 18th edition of the most prestigious women's tournament on the continent will be played in Santiago, the capital of Chile, from June 28 to July 6, 2025.

It will be Chile’s second time hosting this event after successfully organizing the 2007 edition in the city of Valdivia.

Fabián Borro, FIBA Americas President said “It is an honor for FIBA to return to Chile with such an iconic and important event. We thank the National Federation of Chile and the government. Women’s basketball is a key strategic priority for FIBA”.

The 10 national teams that will participate in the tournament will be known after the respective South American and Centrobasket Women's Championships to be played in 2024. The South American Championship is scheduled from August 29 to September 5 and grants four spots to the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2025, including the host, Chile. Centrobasket will be played from November 3 to 11 and will allocate another four spots. The United States and Canada will complete the table of 10.

Brazil is the current champion of the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup, after being crowned in Guanajuato, Mexico, in 2023.
