Carlos Iglesias' Puente Alto claimed two wins over the weekend, starting with a 100-65 triumph over Sagrados Corazones.
Francisco Avello top-scored with 23 points for Puente Alto, ably supported by Percy Werth and German Siegmund, who contributed 14 and 12 respectively.
On Sunday, German Siegmund poured in 30 points and Mauricio Cisternas added 16 to help Puente Alto defeat third-placed Liceo Mixto 90-78.
Puente Alto profited from the 98-86 defeat suffered by Universidad de Concepcion at Boston College, who lie fourth in the table with 15 points.
However, Universidad de Concepcion's 66-65 win over Universidad Catolica helped them retain a share of top spot alongside Puente Alto - both level on 18 points - with Eduardo Marechal netting 17 points.
At the bottom of the table, Deportivo Aleman suffered their seventh and eighth defeats in 10 games.
Liceo Mixto thrashed them 90-55 on Saturday, and 24 hours later they went down 88-68 at Sagrados Corazones.
Universidad de Concepcion B, meanwhile, needed a 20-point haul from the bench from Raul Moraga to beat Boston College 77-75.
Their winning run was soon ended, however, by Universidad Catolica, who claimed an 81-45 win.
