    Cuba and Puerto Rico will play for Centrobasket Gold

    MANATI (FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2019) – Cuba and Puerto Rico will play for the Centrobasket Women’s Championship 2018 Gold Medal after earning convincing wins on the regional Semi-Finals.

    MANATI (FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2019) – Cuba and Puerto Rico will play for the Centrobasket Women’s Championship 2018 Gold Medal after earning convincing wins on the regional Semi-Finals.

    Puerto Rico earned a spot in the Gold-Medal game of the Centrobasket Women’s Championship 2018 after a 72-56 win over the Dominican Republic. The first half of the game was even, but it was the complete opposite on the second half, as the Boricuas dominated 46-26. Jennifer O’Neill led the scoring for Jerry Batista’s team with 16 points.

    Cuba won the right to play for the Gold Medal of the Centrobasket Women’s Championship 2018 after a 86-80 Semi-Final win over Mexico. Cuba had a better start and went on to win the first half by double digits. Mexico kept fighting and started chipping away from the difference. Cuba held on to the slight lead and took the win. Yamara Amargo led the scoring for the Cubans with 20 points.  

    Meanwhile on the Reclassification Round, Costa Rica defeated Guatemala 62-60.

    Tomorrow on the last day of the Centrobasket Women’s Championship:
    5th place game – Bahamas vs Costa Rica
    Bronze Medal - Mexico vs Dominican Republic
    Gold Medal - Cuba vs Puerto Rico
