Central African Republic legend Gambor passes away
BANGUI (Central African Republic) - Former Central African Republic (CAF) star Gaston Gambor passed away on Wednesday in Paris, aged 69.
BANGUI (Central African Republic) - Former Central African Republic (CAF) star Gaston Gambor passed away on Wednesday in Paris, aged 71.
Highly regarded as one of the best players of his generation, Gambor shared his talent across the continent, helping CAF win the African Championship 1974.
Later that year, Gambor went to lead his country at the FIBA Basketball World Cup in Puerto Rico with team-highs 14.4 points per game.

As a result of his basketball achievements, FIBA Africa in March 2018, awarded Gambor with a recognition medal for his services to basketball not only in CAF but also on the continent of Africa.
Gambor has also served as president of CAF Basketball Federation.
