BAHIA BLANCA (2015 FIBA Americas U16 Championhip) - Reigning champions USA and Canada both registered comfortable Semi-Finals wins and will meet in Sunday's Final of the 2015 FIBA Americas U16 Championship.
Canada cruised to a 95-49 victory over the Dominican Republic, before the USA got the better of hosts Argentina 119-76 to set up the title showdown.
Before the Final, Argentina and the Dominicans will fight it out to for the last step in the podium.
In Saturday's first Semi-Final, the Canadians raced out to a 45-27 halftime lead and never looked back, as they reached their first-ever Americas U16 title game. Rowan Barrett Junior led the way with 17 points and 6 rebounds.
In the second Semi-Final, the USA jumped to a 33-17 lead over the home side and a 27-9 second quarter put the game beyond Argentina's reach. Seven players scored in double figures for the three-time defending champions.
The defeat for Argentina means they will not play in the final for the first time in the four editions of the tournament.
Meanwhile, in the Reclassification Round, Puerto Rico outperformed Venezuela to claim the victory, 81-70. Brazil got their first win of the tournament, beating Mexico, 80-69.
As a result, Puerto Rico will face the Brazilians for the fifth position while Venezuela and Mexico will fight for the seventh place.
