RIGA (Latvia) - There was double delight for Bruno Caboclo as he not only celebrated taking a ticket for Paris 2024 with Brazil, but was also named TISSOT MVP of the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament 2024 Latvia. The driving force behind his nation stamping their Olympic pass, Caboclo was superb across the competition.
He declared: "I still can't find feelings to explain this! I'm so excited, I'm so happy. These are the best plans I could imagine."
Caboclo also turned his attention immediately to the action in Paris and is looking forward to being pitched against France in the Group phase and a certain Victor Wembanyama.
"I'm excited and I never look down on no players. I played against Victor when he was young in France, he's an amazing player. I've been watching him. I'm excited," added Caboclo. The Brazilian stepped off the court in the Latvian capital with some superb numbers, racking up a performance efficiency valuation of 22.5 per outing. That was built around an average of 17.8 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game.
He started off strongly and was named TCL Player of the Game in the opener against Montenegro when he amassed 25 points and 9 boards in the contest, going 12 of 16 from the field.
Solid against Cameroon in the second Group game, he then claimed a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds in the Semi-Finals clash against Philippines which delivered another TCL Player of the Game accolade. But most pivotal of all, he also signed off with a stellar showing in the Final with 21 points against Latvia to help propel Brazil to the Men's Olympic Basketball Tournament Paris 2024. FIBA
