LAS VEGAS (FIBA Americas Championship) - The Brazilian Basketball Confederation (CBB) have confirmed that forward Marquinhos is out of the rest of the FIBA Americas Championship due to injury.

Two defeats in a row for the Selecao - against the United States and Puerto Rico - leaves them in dire straits, and now Marquinhos has dislocated the little finger of his left hand.

A statement from the CBB read: "According to national team doctor Carlos Vicente Andreoli, the player will remain with his hand immobilised for between five and seven days.

"He is out of the pre-Olympic tournament."

Marquinhos played less than five minutes on Monday, but that time was enough to pick up this
    new injury.

Marquinhos suffered a similar injury last year, when he fractured a finger during a training camp with NBA side Minnesota Timberwolves.
