RIO DE JANEIRO (FIBA U21 World Championship) - Brazil under-20 women's coach Luiz Claudio Tarallo believes his team can qualify for one of the four berths in next year's FIBA World Championship for that category.
Four teams in the FIBA Americas Championship will qualify for next year's tournament in Guatemala.
Tarallo was delighted with his team's feat of beating Chile's senior team eight times.
"We used the 12 players we took to Chile in all the eight matches, so we could give rhythm to the team, as they played every day with supporters against them," said Tarallo.
"The team showed me they are mature, they have grown up and the girls have great personality.
"Jaqueline, Joice and Isabela, plus centre Francielle were the outstanding and I believe there's a great generation and we have a good chance of performing well in the Tournament of the Americas."
