The FIBA Regional Office - Asia and MTV Lebanon have reached an agreement to give the network exclusive broadcasting rights within the region for the inaugural Basketball Champions League Asia (BCL Asia). This agreement covers all countries within the MENA region except the United Arab Emirates, where broadcasting rights will be owned by Host Broadcasters Dubai Sports.
"We are excited to partner with MTV Lebanon to bring the inaugural Basketball Champions League Asia to fans across the Middle East and North Africa region," said Mr. Hagop Khajirian, Executive Director of FIBA Regional Office - Asia.
"This agreement aligns with our vision to expand the reach of Asian club basketball and enhance its accessibility. By broadcasting these games on free-to-air television, we are ensuring that the excitement and passion of BCL Asia are available to a broader audience, fostering the growth of basketball in the MENA region."
The BCL Asia 2024 marks an important step towards fulfilling FIBA’s objective of sharing the landscape of internal club competitions and will be competed between champions clubs from eight different countries.
The inaugural edition of Asia’ top-tier club competition will be played from 9-15 June in Dubai, UAE.
