    Everything you need to know before the start of BCL Americas 2023-24

    MIAMI (United States) – Basketball Champions League Americas Season 5 will begin on Wednesday, December 13, and will be played until April, when the Final 4 takes place.

    MIAMI (United States) – Basketball Champions League Americas Season 5 will begin on Wednesday, December 13, and will be played until April, when the Final 4 takes place.

    This is the tournament’s fifth edition and each time we see how competitive each season has been as there has been a different champion. Quimsa (ARG) was the first, then Flamengo (BRA), São Paulo (BRA) and SESI Franca (BRA). It will be interesting to see if a new team will take the title or if SESI Franca will be crowned the first back-to-back champions.

    Which teams participate?

    Quimsa, Boca Jrs. and Obras (Argentina); SESI Franca, São Paulo and Flamengo (Brazil); Hebraica Macabi and Nacional (Uruguay); UdeC (Chile), Real Estelí (Nicaragua), Halcones de Xalapa (Mexico) and Gladiadores de Anzoátegui (Venezuela).

    How are the groups formed?

    There are four groups of three teams each. Here’s what to expect in each.

    When and where are the games played?

    There will be four group stages and each team will have the opportunity to host once. The first stage will take place from December 13 to 18, 2023. The second from January 17 to 22, 2024 and the third from February 7 to 12, 2024. See the entire schedules and venues here.

     

    How many teams advance to the next round?

    The first two in each group qualify for the Quarterfinals, scheduled to be played from March 4 to 10, 2024. In the Quarterfinals, the teams will play a best-of-three series as follows:

    (1st Group A) vs. (2nd Group B)
    (1st Group B) vs. (2nd Group A)
    (1st Group C) vs. (2nd Group D)
    (1st Group D) vs. (2nd Group C)

    The winners will proceed to the Final 4 in April.

    Where can I watch the games?

    In North America the games will be available through the FanDuel platform. In South America on DirecTV, except for Brazil, and in the rest of the world through the Basketball Champions League Americas YouTube channel.
