MIAMI (USA) - The FIBA Basketball Champions League Americas 2021 official draw took place on Saturday, October 16th announcing the clubs that would play in Groups B, C and D during Season 3 of the competition taking place from December 2021 to April 2022.

The event was streamed live on the BCL Americas YouTube channel to reach the 12 clubs representing 7 countries across the Americas, a new record, coming from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, and Uruguay.

The event included a message from Horacio Muratore, the president of the BCL Americas as they move into the third season of play.

Each club was drawn at random being split evenly between the groups with the final three groups being decided by drawing one ball that contained a club's name.

Group A, which consists of Real Estelí from Nicaragua, Cangrejeros of Puerto Rico, and the Edmonton Stingers from Canada, were pre-assigned to their group due to geographical and logistical reasons.

Group B will be made up of A.A. Quimsa, Sao Paulo FC and Nacional, Group C will be Club Biguá, Obras Basket and Minas. While Group D will have the reigning BCL Americas champion CR Flamengo, Boca Juniors, and Basket UdeC.

The Complete schedule and tip-off times will be determined in the next upcoming days to begin play on December 10th. The innovative partnership between FIBA, National Federations and Leagues makes BCL Americas the continent's elite men's basketball league.
