MIES (Switzerland) - For the second straight season, the Basketball Champions League official Fantasy game is available to all, thanks to the Scorestars mobile app.
The new app brings a lot of improvements and new features: All players are available to every user, there's more tactical gameplay, daily manager missions. There is also a new in-app currency called basketballs, the possibility to improve your team's players, collect daily rewards, and progress in divisions throughout the season.
By default, you get to spend 55 efficiency points on your five starters. Here to help you with the selection are our Fantasy Tips.
Manisa's all-rounder
While Javon Freeman-Liberty and Saben Lee stole all the Manisa Basket headlines early in the season, and then Martynas Echodas filled up the highlight reels with his dunks, the real hero of Manisa's perfect start in the BCL was actually another guy.
Hugo Besson is a 23-year-old French guard who came up through Antibes and Chalon's youth ranks, before testing the waters elsewhere by embarking on a journey around the world to play for the New Zealand Breakers.
He also played for Saint-Quentin and Levallois in France, with FMP SoccerBet in Serbia, and Varese in Italy, before finally finding a home in Turkiye with Manisa, last summer.
Besson reached double digits in every single game he played this season, flirting with a triple-double with 21 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds against FMP on Gameday 2. With his playing time in the mid-30s, he could become the next man to post a triple-double in this competition.
But he is actually registering his best numbers in the Turkish League. Besson had at least 4 assists in all five games there, had an 8-rebound performance against Aliaga Petkimspor, and scored 15 or better in each game, including a 26-point outing against Darussafaka.
With his fine form, he could be the man you go all-in on this week with your BCL Fantasy team. He's available at 18 efficiency points, which could be a steal considering his efficiency rating of 30 against FMP earlier this season.
Other notable mentions
Keep an eye on Filou Oostende this week. The Belgian champions picked up their first BCL win of the season a couple of weeks ago, and then had back-to-back home games in their domestic championship, which served them perfectly.
That's because coach Dario Gjergja had time to incorporate Devontae Shuler into his lineup, and the newest member of Oostende responded with 22 points, 8 assists and 4 rebounds against Zwolle, plus 12 points and 4 assists against Groningen.
He is not the only Oostende man in fine form. Timmy Allen had a monster game of 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists against Groningen, and 16 points and 4 assists against Zwolle.
If they manage to put up similar numbers against King Szczecin at home this week, your BCL Fantasy team could be that much closer to reaching the top.
