Gorham and Derthona are beasting in March
Don't look now but after a February to forget for Bertram Derthona Basket, where they lost all four games in the month, spring has arrived and the Italians seem reborn.
After a dominant 82-60 over Promitheas in Patras last week, Derthona are now on four wins from four games this month.
Power forward Justin Gorham has been an absolute beast during that run, especially in that game against Promitheas when he put up a huge double-double with 21 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals.
All in, that performance resulted in a colossal efficiency score of 34 for Gorham and also a spot in our team of the week.
Gorham was uncharacteristically quiet in Derthona's previous domestic game. He failed to score in an 89-82 win over Varese on March 9. That performance was the outlier not the norm for Gorham in March, though.
On March 4, also against Promitheas, Gorham put up 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists, earning him an efficiency score of 19. Derthona won the game 97-77.
And last but certainly not least, Gorham sent out the clearest message anyone will ever receive at the start of March. In an 89-85 win over Trento on March 1, Gorham dropped 35 points and pulled down 7 rebounds, whilst shooting 81 percent from the field.
His shooting numbers for the season are looking equally impressive now. In the BCL alone, Gorham is shooting 54 percent overall, 65.5 percent from two-point range, 43.8 percent from deep, and 96.2 percent from the line. Scary hours indeed for Gorham's opponents.
The crazy thing is that although he has averaged 14 points over his last four games for Derthona, he only averaged 8.2 points up until the start of March, so although he is an expensive asset in your lineup, an efficiency score of 14.8 isn't going to break the bank.
If you scan through the biggest performers in recent weeks, Gorham almost certainly has the highest return on investment (ROI) potential of any premium asset in the BCL right now.
Up next for Derthona and Gorham is a huge test in the shape of AEK BC this Wednesday. The Queen are unbeaten in the Round of 16 and won their last five games, including a 93-86 win in the reverse fixture on February 4.
However, as we saw in the game against Trento this month, Gorham has a habit of stepping up in the toughest games, and even in that loss against AEK he put up 12 points, 7 rebounds and recorded an efficiency score of 17.
Even if he just equals that performance you will be winning on your investment of 14.8 efficiency points on Gorham.
If he returns another one of his beast mode performances that we have seen so far in March, he might be exactly what you need to help you get a better chance of promotion through divisions or even better, get the bragging rights in your group of other BCL Fantasy game contestants.
