    BCL Americas Season 6 is set to tip-off

    Twelve teams from seven different countries in the Americas region will fight for the BCL Americas title. Opening day for Season 6 will be December 11 in Santiago del Estero Argentina, home of the reigning champions Quimsa.

    MIAMI (United States) – The FIBA Americas Regional Office in collaboration with BCLA Board and FIBA HQ have define the 12 teams that will participate in Season 6 of the Basketball Champions League Americas, running from December through April 2025. The 12 teams represent seven countries in the region: Boca Juniors, Instituto, and Quimsa from Argentina; SESI Franca, Flamengo, and Minas Tenis from Brazil; Colegio Los Leones from Chile; Paisas BC and Toros del Valle from Colombia; Real Estelí from Nicaragua; Toros de Chiriquí from Panama; and Bigua from Uruguay. The opening game is scheduled for December 11 in Santiago del Estero, Argentina, at the venue of reigning champions Quimsa, the only team with two titles (2019-20 and 2023-24) in BCL Americas history. In the Group Phase, the teams will be divided into four groups of three and will compete across three group stages in December, January, and February. Each team will host a set of games at their venue, playing three matches against each group rival. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Quarterfinals in March, where they will be seeded based on their records. The Quarterfinals will feature best-of-three series, with Game 1 hosted by the lower-seeded team and Games 2 and 3 (if necessary) hosted by the higher-seeded team. The winners of these series will progress to the Final Four, scheduled for April. All games will be broadcast on DIRECTV across LATAM region. The 2024-25 BCL Americas champion will represent the region at the FIBA Intercontinental Cup which will take place in Singapore in September 2025.
