MIAMI (United States) – Clubs Instituto (ARG), Boca Juniors (ARG), SESI Franca (BRA), and Flamengo (BRA) emerged victorious in the Quarterfinals of the Basketball Champions League Americas 2024-25 and advanced to the Final 4. Each matchup featured outstanding individual performances that played a decisive role in their teams' success. Here are the top players from each Quarterfinals series: Flamengo’s point guard, Alexey Borges, had the highest efficiency rating on his team and was instrumental in Flamengo’s sweep over Paisas. Borges averaged an efficiency of 26.5 over the two-game series. He nearly posted a triple-double in Game 1 with 20 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists. Then, in Game 2, he recorded double digits in both points (12) and assists (11). His overall series averages were 16.0 points, 10.0 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game. Sebastián Vega was Boca Juniors' most consistent player in their 2-1 series victory over Real Estelí. The forward averaged 15.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 3.0 steals across the three games, finishing with an efficiency rating of 22.6.
After standing out in all three stages of the Group Phase, SESI Franca’s wing player, Georginho De Paula, maintained his high level in the Playoffs. The 28-year-old continued his impressive run and once again earned recognition with his strong performances. In his team’s 2-1 series win over Quimsa, he averaged 12.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.0 steal per game, with an efficiency of 18.3. In the decisive game, he carried his squad with 24 points and 10 rebounds.
Finally, Bautista Lugarini was the spark for Instituto, which pulled off a surprise 2-1 series victory over Minas. The 6’6” (1.99m) forward posted an efficiency rating of 15.6, thanks to his notable contributions on both ends of the floor, averaging 11.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game. In Game 3, he exploded for 18 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 blocks.
