Following FIBA’s intervention, the club Athinaikos Sony Athens honoured the BAT award and paid the adjudicated amounts to the claimant. As a result, FIBA lifted the ban on registration of new players which was imposed on the club Athinaikos Sony Athens on 3 July 2012.

In view of the fact that the club Athinaikos Sony Athens continues to be in breach of its obligation to honour the BAT award, FIBA imposed a ban on registration of new players on Athinaikos Sony Athens.

Summary of the case:
The Czech player Katerina Zohnova filed a claim against the Greek club Athinaikos Sony Athens for outstanding salaries. According to Article 16.2 of the BAT Rules, the Arbitrator issued an award without reasons.
