Quarter-Finals Top Performers: Gilgeous-Alexander, Bogdanovic, Haliburton, Bridges and Petrusev

MANILA (Philippines) - It was only fitting that there were five players from winning teams that signed up for the Top Performers list of the Quarter-Finals round.

MANILA (Philippines) - It was only fitting that there were five players from winning teams that signed up for the Top Performers list of the Quarter-Finals round.

Canada had plenty of key contributors in their 100-89 affair against Slovenia, however, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was once again the clear leader of the team. SGA had 9 important points in Canada's third quarter run, as well as made a crucial and-one shot with 3 minutes remaining to hold off Slovenia's run.

His highest mark for a single-game efficiency rating (40) in this World Cup was made up of 31 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals, all the while making 8-of-12 shots from the field and 14-of-16 shots from the free throw line.

Though the most important achievement  for Bogdan Bogdanovic was Serbia's 87-68 win against Lithuania to make the Quarter-Finals, it was a symbolic game for Serbia's leader. His three-point dagger late in the first half allowed him to join the 400+ point club in World Cup games as he continues moving up the all-time scorers list.

Of course, it just had to come in a very efficient game as the guard accumulated 21 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists, making 9-of-13 shots from the field in the process.

Tyrese Haliburton was once again the main engine for the terrific USA bench that played a huge part in their 100-63 blowout of Italy. He led his bench brigade with 18 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals, with all of his points coming from excellent 6-of-8 shooting from three-point range.

No wonder that the USA reserves made up for 57 points of the 100 that the Americans scored, given the way Haliburton keeps dishing out sweet no-look dimes.

It is Mikal Bridges, however, who represents USA's starters on this list. The forward has improved or at least sustained his number of points throughout every game of this World Cup.

Bridges put up a tournament-high 24 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals on 8-of-11 shooting from the field in 18 minutes of playing time. The player himself shared after the game that his number one priority was staying aggressive in the battle on the glass. Well, it certainly worked.

Last but not least, we just have to acknowledge the fact that this frontcourt of Serbia just keeps on giving. We've already seen Nikola Milutinov in two separate Top Performers lists.

This time around it was his understudy Filip Petrusev, who contributed mightily after coming off the bench. The 23-year-old gathered a quick 7 points the first time he checked in for a six minute stint, helping Serbia improve their lead. However, he ended the game with 17 points, 6 rebounds and some fabulous 3-of-3 shooting from deep in 17 minutes of playing time.

The honor is even more special in elimination games. So, answer this question wisely!
