MIES/OKINAWA (Switzerland/Japan) - Japan, co-host of the FIBA's biggest event with the Philippines and Indonesia, have announced that Orion Breweries, Ltd. will be an Event Sponsor for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.
Orion Breweries is one of Japan's top five biggest breweries and is based in Okinawa, the city that will host Group E and F of FIBA's men's flagship event.
The World Cup gets underway at the Okinawa Arena on August 25, with fans able to embrace the hoops and get a taste of the finest of international basketball traditions.
The World Cup has served up many great games over the years, including 17 years ago in Japan when the country hosted a spectacular 24-team event that was won by Spain.
When the final buzzer sounds in the Okinawa Arena to signal the end of great games, fans will feel like toasting Australia, Finland, Germany, Japan, Slovenia, Cape Verde, Georgia and Venezuela, countries that are playing at the venue.
The FIBA Basketball World Cup has 32 teams and stars galore.
