    More than 81 percent of World Cup players competed in the Qualifiers

    MANILA (Philippines) - A total of 314 players at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 competed for their national teams in the Qualifiers with 42 of them playing in all of their country's games.

    MANILA (Philippines) - A total of 314 players at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 competed for their national teams during the Qualifiers with 42 of them playing in all of their country's games.

    Those 314 players make up 81.8 percent of the total 384 athletes ready to represent their countries in the 2023 World Cup. A total of 328 players played in at least one of their country's qualifying games ahead of China 2019.

    Mexico and Venezuela are the teams with the biggest commitment with five World Cup players appearing in all of the qualification games during the national team windows while Cape Verde had four players at all 12 qualifying games.

    Mexico will be able to rely on a strong consistency within the team as the quintet of Gabriel Giron, Israel Gutierrez, Fabian Jaimes, Orlando Mendez and Paul Stoll playing a part in all 12 games on the road to the World Cup.

    Venezuela hope the strong core of Nestor Colmenares, David Cubillan, Windi Graterol, Miguel Ruiz and Jhornan Zamora will help them as they fight to reach the Second Round in back-to-back World Cups.

    Mexico and Venezuela are two of the five countries whose rosters are made up entirely of players from the qualifying campaign with Cape Verde, Latvia and Slovenia being the others.

    10 more teams have included just one player who didn't appear in the Qualifiers.

    In total, 30 of the 32 teams had at least eight players from their final rosters appear the Qualifiers.
