Internet exploded in reaction to ''The Obst-acle''

MANILA (Philippines) - 24 points AND the dagger. Obst helped Germany get the win over USA to clinch a trip to the Final for the first time ever. This is how social media reacted.

MANILA (Philippines) - The names. The resumes. It doesn't matter. This is the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Obst emerged, forever etching his name in German basketball history, as the best player of the best game.

24 points. 4 three-pointers - AND the dagger. Most importantly, he helped Germany get the win over USA to clinch a trip to the Final for the first time ever.

This is how social media reacted. What a ride.

In case you don't know who this man is, here's a reminder.

Are you sure you remember his name now? Because if you don't, it is:

    What a move.

How many teams are already pushing a campaign to #ObtainObst?

He was doing this all game, too. GOAT caption by the way,

We're refreshing our feeds. Your move, Woj/Shams,

    Can confirm.

Let's take a quick break from the basketball discourse for a second.

There's plenty of time to get to know who Andreas Obst is now.

Yeah, we double-checked this one. Dirk didn't play. But if he did, that would have meant less touches for Obst.

Dirk was watching though. Spiritual assist.

The main point here, though, is to just remember the name. And enjoy the art that is this snapshot.

Have some fun with that name, too. Just like we did.

We also approve this message and confirm.

This is a crazy fun fact, too.

Asked this on repeat through the game.

Seriously though, "The Obst-acle" is going to be a wild nickname.

Might want to turn up your volume for this one.

Keep that volume up for this one, too.

Today some of us learned that "Obst" means "Fruit" in German. This is something most of us could have gone our whole lives without ever knowing. Thank you, Andreas.

    Well, know we do.

We'll keep adding on any more reactions to Obst's big Semi-Finals game. Stay tuned for more.
