Doncic's near triple-double keeps Slovenia unscathed

OKINAWA (Japan) - Luka Doncic put on a show once more to lead Slovenia past Georgia, 88-67, to stay unbeaten in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, Monday night at the Okinawa Arena.
The star guard finished with a game-high 34 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists in just under 32 minutes of action to lead his side to their second win in as many outings.

Turning point: The Slovenians trailed by one after the opening period despite Doncic's 12-point effort but finally got going come the next frame, unloading 26 points to take a 45-33 lead at the half.
They would stay in control from then on before breaking away in the final chapter, with Doncic's step-back triple pushing their lead to 22, 72-50, with about seven minutes left to play.
TCL Player of the Game: Doncic shot 45 percent from the floor in his second straight 30-point outing and also had 3 steals en route to registering an efficiency rating of 36.
Bottomline: By improving to 2-0, Slovenia got closer to securing the Group F top seed. Their victory also means that Venezuela are now out of contention to advance to the Second Round.
