The Boomers had already locked up their spot in the Second Round with a 2-1 record and their ticket to the Paris 2024 Games was secured after New Zealand failed to make it out of the initial Group Phase following a defeat to Greece on Wednesday.
Australia continue their proud long-standing streak of qualifying for the Olympics having not missed out since the 1968 event. Their best result came at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics when they made it onto the podium for the first time with a historic bronze medal.
There will be one additional automatic spot in the Olympic Qualifying Tournaments for the next best-ranked side from Asia/Oceania with New Zealand still in contention as they now compete in the 17-32 Classification Round.
Australia become the second confirmed team alongside Paris 2024 hosts France with six more automatic berths still up for grabs at the World Cup.
