COLORADO SPRINGS (USA) - The United States begin their Americas Qualifiers campaign against Cuba and bubble hosts Mexico in Chihuahua with experienced hands Frank Mason III and Chasson Randle on the team.

COLORADO SPRINGS (USA) - The United States will begin their Americas Qualifiers campaign for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 with a 12-man roster that includes Frank Mason III and Chasson Randle, players that helped the country reach the World Cup 2019 in China.

The USA will be coached by Jim Boylen and go into the November window with a No. 1 FIBA World Ranking, take on Cuba on November 28 and a Window 1 host in Mexico the following day. The games will be played in a bubble format in Chihuahua (Mexico).

Randall represented the USA in the 2018 September, and November/December, Second Round games in the Americas Qualifiers for the World Cup in China.
The guard played in all four contests and averaged 9.3 points and 1.5 assists as the USA went 3-1. He was especially good from three-point range, burying 46.7 percent (seven of 15) of his attempts.

Randle has a long history with USA Basketball, having played on the team that won the title at  FIBA U17 World Cup in 2010. He also played for the USA team that won the FIBA Americas U16 Championship the previous year.

Mason represented the USA in the Americas Qualifiers in September 2018 and helped the team win twice in as many games by averaging 11.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and a team-high 5.0 assists.

In the Americas Qualifiers for the last World Cup, the United States won 10 of their 12 games. Once in China, the USA, who won the 2010 and 2014 World Cups in Turkey and Spain, respectively, came up short of a three-peat after falling to France in the Quarter-Finals. The Americans ended up seventh overall but rebounded with an undefeated run at this past summer's Tokyo Olympics to capture the gold medal.
