    Basketball Association of Hong Kong, China and FIBA China launch Mini Basketball and Youth Training Development Program

    BEIJING (China) - The Basketball Association of Hong Kong, China has collaborated with FIBA China to officially launch the 'Mini Basketball and Youth Training Development Program of Hong Kong, China.'

    BEIJING (China) - The Basketball Association of Hong Kong, China, has collaborated with FIBA China to officially launch the 'Mini Basketball and Youth Training Development Program of Hong Kong, China.'

    The program will incorporate FIBA China Youth Training concepts, models, and methods to help make local training more systematic and further enhance the local professional level, as well as improving the overall youth training structure in Hong Kong, China.

    In the long term, once the youth training development program reaches a certain level of participation and technical proficiency, BAHKC plans to hold open selections across Hong Kong, China and establish development tiers for further training.

    BAHKC will also organize children's and youth basketball representative teams for each age level. These teams are expected to participate in Mini Basketball events in China and other parts of Asia in the future, ultimately strengthening the overall structure of basketball in Hong Kong, China. 

    Mr. Mo Wentao, Vice President of BAHKC, said: "BAHKC has been committed to promoting basketball and improving basketball technical level in Hong Kong, China.

    "I hope that this cooperation with FIBA China can improve the overall local youth training structure and lay a solid foundation for youth players in the age groups of U6 to U14.

    "We want to be more closely associated with FIBA China in the future and look forward to working together with them  in different areas to strengthen local youth training development," Wentao concluded. 

    Mr. Kelvin Fang, Managing Director of FIBA China, said: "I am very glad that BAHKC can use the FIBA Youth Training Curriculum as a blueprint to promote the youth training development program.

    "Since 2021, FIBA China has authorized many mainland training institutions to become 'FIBA China Youth Training Curriculum Certified Institutions.'

    "These institutions have organized FIBA youth training programs in 89 cities across 25 provinces, with the FIBA Youth Training Curriculum extended to various forms of youth training events.

    "At the same time, through the FIBA Basketball App, we have also established a youth player certification and point system. We hope these resources will contribute to the growth of basketball in Hong Kong, China while promoting and further popularizing the sport."
