PARIS (France) - Canyon Barry produced a performance for the ages to keep alive USA's Paris Olympic dreams as they prevailed 21-19 over host France in a heart-stopper on day four.
After four straight losses, compounded by the absence of injured superstar Jimmer Fredette, USA were staring down the barrel but Barry was in the zone to finish with an astonishing 16 points.

His heroics prompted plenty of cheers from USA's mighty women's basketball team, who were watching on the sidelines. USA will have to back up quickly as they play in the final game of day four against China, who are also 1-4.
Playing without a sub, USA were underdogs and had to also battle against the passionate French fans making plenty of noise in the packed bleachers. But the Americans were brave and kept pace with France, who couldn't break clear despite a spectacular performance from superstar Franck Seguela.
Barry, the son of NBA legend Rick Barry, took over down the stretch to hit a couple of pretty layups to edge USA ahead. He then made two free throws, through his much-renowned underhanded technique, to get USA on the brink.
Barry finished it off in style with the game-winner before letting out a triumphant roar.
Key Player: Obviously, it's Barry who produced the most outrageous performance of the competition so far. He was completely in the zone and his heat check made up for the absence of Fredette - the No.1 ranked player in the world. It was the game of Barry's life, but he'll have to repeat the dose if a shorthanded USA are to progress.
