AUS - Opals gather for training camp

cANBERRA (FIBA Oceania Olympic Qualifiers) - Australia Opals coach Jan Stirling has welcomed 18 players to a training camp in Canberra as her team begin their preparations for their FIBA Oceania Olympic Qualifiers against New Zealand in September.

Although the likes of Lauren Jackson are missing from the squad at the moment, a number of younger players will get their chance to impress.

Australia are to play in a Four Nations tournament in China later this month as they get themselves in shape for the crunch games that will determine if they play at the London Games in 2012.

The tournament in China will be played from June 17-24 and matches Australia against the hosts as well as New Zealand and Brazil.
